Sara-Jane Tyler

Sara-Jane TylerSara Jane Tyler recently joined the Ranch Brokers, specializing in residential sales within the David Viers & Associates Office. She has the unique experience of moving to the fabulous Big Sky Country of Montana after transplanting her family from historic Litchfield, Connecticut in 1994. Her three grown children have had a good mix of local public and parochial schooling, as well as private schooling in Minnesota, Connecticut, and British Columbia. She's been an officer in PTO groups in Connecticut and Montana. She's served as an officer with the school board in Livingston's only parochial school, and as a member of Montana's largest diocesan school board. She was a ten year member of the board of trustees of the Marvelwood School in Kent Connecticut, her high school alma mater.

Sara Jane's start in real estate began in Connecticut nearly thirty years ago. Like many mothers, she had the fortune to be a stay at home to raise her children, so the career took a place on the back-burner until 1994 when she returned to the real estate business. She's been deeply involved in Park County Board of Realtors, serving as treasurer, secretary and vice president. She was the local board's representative to the Montana Association of Realtors for a full two year term.

While in college, Sara Jane concentrated on the history of architecture and design. Her early years were spent in a hundred fifty year-old, twenty room home that was on the site of one of the historic town's earliest residences. Her family sold that house and moved into a decidedly modern, Bauhaus home designed by one of the originators of that movement, Marcel Breuer. Sara Jane and her first husband built two homes together, the first in Northwestern Connecticut, and the second in the Lower Shields Valley of Park County, Montana. She loves touring houses for their visual appeal, 'bones', and construction.

In addition to her service on various school boards, Sara Jane wrote and published the quarterly newsletter for the Friends of the Yellowstone Gateway Museum in Livingston for five years. She is a past president of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Park & Sweet Grass Counties. She's a member of a local philanthropic sorority, FAUSA, and the Livingston Rotary Club. Sara Jane's three children live, work, and study at Montana State University in Bozeman. Her eldest, a graduate of the University of Montana, currently works as a technical writer in the office of Invasive Plant Management office at MSU. The others are both finishing up their studies in the Graphic Design Program while working as graphic designers for MSU. She married Dude Tyler in 2011 and the two live in the heart of Livingston with their two small dogs.
